It is important to know that there are two results for which symbolism is relevant in literature, or in art in general.

Symbolism is good when it shortens the narrative (the duration of the artistic presentation).

Additionally, the use of symbolism is good when it aspirates a complex concept into its initially empty bubble, and becomes – after the reader’s experience – a genie lamp whose content can be summoned up, invoked, evoked by everyone as easily as by gently rubbing it.

Symbolism that does not succeed in at least one of these two aspects has very little importance.
